Owner Cyndi Durham coordinates every wedding at The Castle in Historic Dahlonega, GA. She has coordinated countless weddings and will make sure that your wedding day is worry-free.
But there is lots to think about before the big day arrives. Cyndi thought it would be helpful to post a few ideas and resources that have proven valuable to other brides as they plan for their wedding:
GET YOUR OWN WEDDING WEBSITE:
There are several websites available to help brides and grooms plan for their wedding and better communicate with their guests. Posting all of the important details online can save brides and grooms countless hours on the telephone. Also, informed guests tend to show up at a greater rate. Get your own website!
You can create your own page listing your wedding date and location, gift registry locations, suggest accommodations for you family and guests, and share photos. If you are having your wedding in Dahlonega, you need to click here: Couples Page

Another good resource is from www.MyWedding.Com They offer a FREE WEBSITE that is easy to use and offers several great looking templates. You can post photos, post directions to your Rehearsal Dinner and Ceremony, manage RSVPs, set up a Gift Registry and much more. This is a no brainer! Did I say it is FREE?
Outdoor Weddings are beautiful and are the natural choice for many brides. But what about when the weather turns bad? At The Castle we use the King's Ballroom as a contingency site for your ceremony in the event of rain or cold. If you are not having your wedding at The Castle, make sure your venue has a "Plan B" for bad weather.
The Weather Channel has a really useful tool for brides that allows you to look at historical data for temperature and rainfall for any area. Go to www.weather.com and type in our zip, 30533 for Dahlonega, GA.
CEREMONY TIME:
It is also important to think about the time of day you will walk down the aisle. For example, a 2:00 pm wedding in the middle of July in Dahlonega, Ga. could prove to be really hot and sticky for the bridal party and the guests. Instead, something a little closer to sundown, or even a dramatic candlelit ceremony would be more comfortable for everyone.
Here is a standard rule of thumb that works well for most weddings..... plan on your ceremony starting two hours before sundown. This gives you 30 minutes for the ceremony, plus one hour for pictures before the sun goes down (plus a 30 minute cushion in case things run late). Do this and your guests and photographer will love you!
Again The Weather Channel has a reference for you to check for sundown times. Go to www.weather.com and type in 30533 as the zip code for Dahlonega, Ga.
